How to Identify Your Yamaha Piano Model and Serial Number:
Knowing the model of your piano will tell you the size. You can find the model of your Yamaha grand piano by looking at the letters stamped on the plate on the inside of the piano. It will be near the front, above the keys and fallboard, typically located toward the right side of the piano. Please note the serial number will only tell you the year the piano was manufactured, not the model of the Yamaha. In the below example, the model is C3, which from the above list, tells you that the length of this piano is 6'1".

Side Slits
Side slits are designed to allow you to play the piano without having to take the entire cover off. Side Slits are put on each side of the piano cover, above the front legs. This allows the pianist to simply flip the front part of the cover back to play the piano, without having to completely remove the entire cover. This provides a seamless and convenient solution for those who require frequent access to their piano, without compromising on its protection. A very popular option, and added to the majority of covers.
Embroidery (Logo)
For the ultimate look of luxury, we recommend custom embroidery for your piano cover. For an additional fee, we can embroider the piano brand logo on either the front of the cover above the keys, or on the right sideboard of the piano (located above the leg on the sideboard). A great way to highlight your beautiful instrument, even when it's covered. Embroidery comes standard in gold thread. Custom colors are available upon request.

Locking Straps
Locking straps are a popular option when the piano is in an area where people will want to remove the cover and play it. The straps keep the cover in place, and act as an effective barrier against tampering. Many schools, hotels, resorts and churches add this option to ensure their piano stays safe and secure.
How do locking straps work? There are 3 straps sewn into the cover--one by each of the front legs and one at the back of the piano. The straps meet underneath the piano in the middle, forming a "Y" shape (note larger covers will use 4 straps, forming an "X" shape). At the end of each strap is a plastic D-ring. You turn one of the rings sideways and insert it through the other D-ring. When you turn it back, they will now be interconnected (as shown in the picture below). The cover is now securely on the piano, and the straps need to be disconnected in order to remove the cover and play. Note that if you need additional security, you can add a padlock to the D-rings, completely preventing someone from removing the cover without having the key to the padlock.

Can a piano cover protect my Yamaha's polished ebony finish from scratches?
Yes. Our covers feature a soft, non-abrasive inner lining specifically designed for high-gloss finishes. This prevents "swirl marks" and fine scratches that can occur from dust accumulation or household activity.
Do Yamaha piano covers help with climate and humidity control?
Absolutely. A cover acts as a thermal barrier, slowing down the effects of rapid temperature changes and humidity fluctuations. This helps keep your Yamaha in tune longer and protects the soundboard from cracking.
If your piano is in direct sunlight, the best material option is the premium quilt, which breathes more than the other materials, and will not trap the heat.
ARE YOUR COVERS CUSTOM-FITTED FOR SPECIFIC YAMAHA MODELS LIKE THE GB, GC, AND C SERIES (INCLUDING CX “C-X” MODELS)?
Yes. We use Yamaha-specific sizing and templates for the most common Yamaha grand models and length classes (including GB/GC and C/CX-series sizes). By using templates created from actual Yamaha pianos, we are able to correctly line up the curves of the cover to match you piano, providing a clean, professional look.
DO YAMAHA OWNERS TYPICALLY ORDER COVERS WITH SIDE SLITS (OR IS A STANDARD COVER BETTER FOR MOST HOMES)?
Most home owners choose to get the upgraded side-slit option, especially if the piano is played frequently and you want quicker access without fully removing the cover. If you practice often, teach lessons, or keep the piano in active use, side slits are a convenient upgrade.
DO “SILENT” OR PLAYER SYSTEMS ON YAMAHA GRANDS CHANGE THE OUTSIDE DIMENSIONS FOR COVER FIT?
Usually, no. Silent and player systems are primarily internal. Your cover size is determined by the grand’s cabinet dimensions and length, not the electronics package. Choose the correct Yamaha size from the menu, and you’ll be set.
DO YOU MAKE COVERS FOR YAMAHA CLAVINOVA DIGITAL GRAND PIANOS?
Yes. Yamaha Clavinova digital grands use different cabinet dimensions than acoustic grands, so they require a different cover. Please see our Yamaha Clavinova Digital Grand Piano Cover page.

I inhereted my grandmother's Yamaha C3 piano, and wanted to get something to protect it. The cover I ordered fits beautifully.
Living in an older home, temperature drops in the winter always worried me. My piano tech recommended a padded cover to insulate my Yamaha C3.
